Mass Mortuary Services Provides Immediate Care Following a Medical Event

Mass Mortuary Services is a key component to the health care community. The mass-tissue tissue death process can be a slow, painful, and traumatic time for families, their loved ones, friends, and the entire medical care workforce. This service enables families to make arrangements to meet the needs of their loved ones following a traumatic event. Such services must be in place in order to provide the necessary documentation for health professionals to assess the condition and to establish eligibility for appropriate compensation.

Mass Casualty Services are established to meet the needs of those individuals and families who suffer permanent loss as the result of a violent, unexpected death. To qualify, these families must submit a completed application for emergency protective measures. This application should be completed and signed by all beneficiaries requesting emergency medical care, in accordance with COBRA law, as well as by the temporary medial facility where the patient is received. In order to determine if a family member is eligible for eligible emergency protective measures, they will be required to fill out a form describing their relationship to the deceased. The form will then be submitted along with any other necessary or additional information to the facility from which the family has requested emergency care.

The next step in the process is to submit a request for contract labor costs related to the emergency medical conditions detailed in the application. All costs associated with this service are considered by the provider to be eligible emergency protective measures for survivors of the deceased. If the provider determines that any of these services are not eligible for inclusion in the policy, then the beneficiary will not be paid.

For each patient who is assigned an incident activity code, there will be a different number of people assigned to work on that patient's case. Usually three staff members will be assigned to a single patient: a legal assistant, a contract medical technician, and a field worker. At the time the case begins, each staff member is assigned a specific incident activity code, which will be written on the case summary form. Each assigned staff member will be required to complete a separate incident activity report, as well as a standard work sheet. The case progress report will detail the action taken on each patient throughout the incident, as well as a detailed description of the entire incident. This information will also include an update schedule for each staff member, listing the action taken on each case, the cost associated with the case, and any other details needed to compile the applicable information. In addition to the application and incident activity code forms, all legal residents in the area will need to fill out a non-discrimination form that will be needed to ensure that all individuals living in the facility are treated equally. This application will be used to determine whether or not an individual is eligible for non-competitive emergency protective measures, such as the use of non-aggressive response teams. Once all of the eligible individuals have been assigned to a team, they will be responsible for providing their services to a mass casualty facility and reporting any incidents that they may come into contact with during this time.

Mass Mortuary services are only one part of a multi-pronged comprehensive health care team at any facility. If a medical incident occurs, the entire emergency protective measures team will be immediately notified. They will also coordinate with the nursing staff and other departments of the facility once the situation has stabilized. All staff involved will then create an action plan for the next steps to take and will conduct regular weekly meetings with the entire staff to review the success of the week and to discuss any issues that may arise. This integrated approach has been proven to save the lives of thousands of individuals over the course of years, and should be utilized in every situation where the lives of patients may be in jeopardy.
